Gymnastics Team head coach, Richard Gishi has brought his 35 years of experience and knowledge to Team OC! With degrees in kinesiology and teaching from California State University, Fullerton, Richard uses his field of study in conjunction with his passion for gymnastics and children to be the best Team Director. Prior to Team OC, Richard was the head coach of the women’s gymnastics team at California State University, Fullerton. For the last 32 years, he has been a USAG professional member and his gymnastics expertise has helped produce 25 gymnasts on the USA National Team and 7 OLYMPIANS!!
Gaby Shirazi
Gaby Shirazi has almost 30 years of gymnastics coaching experience! She has worked with gymnasts levels 7 - elite who have won various national championships. Gaby worked exclusively with Kayla Sukert, 2009 Maccabiah qualifier, and is currently responsible for coaching beam and floor routines for the Team OC Optional Level athletes.
Brent Gorhes
Brent Gohres, born and raised in southern California, has a gymnastics background as a gymnast himself for six years. He attended California State University, Fullerton from 1988-1989 and transferred to U.N.L.V from 1991-1994 where he received a B.A. in Primary Education. Brent began his coaching career at Fern Adair Conservatory of the arts and created and developed a team program that won the state championships in the first year. He has worked with levels 5 through elite athletes and has gone to several national team camps with U.S.A national staff. Brent currently coaches levels 9 through elite.
Jola Jemiola
Jola has been coaching in the United States since 2001 and is instrumental in developing young athletes. She is currently an optional level coach and also assists with compulsory athletes and recreation athletes.
As an athlete, Jola competed in Poland and was on the Polish National Team for many years. In addition to her competitive accomplishments, she was sent with the Polish Olympic Team to the 1980 Olympics in Moscow as a representative from her country.
After competition she traveled around the world with the Polish National Circus and was a star performer on the trampoline and in the balancing acts.
